Mitsuri was born in a family where she has five siblings that all get along well. At the age of 13 months she lifted up a rock weighing 15 kilograms or 33 pounds. And one day, she found a man who wanted her but she felt like it wasn't right. She couldn't marry someone when faking who she is, so the marriage got cancelled. But then, she found the Demon Slayer Corps, a place where people accepted her for who she is. She started training under Kyojuro Rengoku, who taught her Flame Breathing, but she never managed to master it. She passed the Final Selection, which is the test that determines whether you are qualified to be a Demon Slayer or not, after six months of training, which is less time than average. But when she went on a mission with her teacher, she remembered what he told her when fighting, that her sword is part of her body, and that made her form her own breathing, Love Breathing. She later became the Love Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps.
